Kids Hapkido

Learning any skill as a small person is difficult, but a self defence martial art can be particularily tough. Here is how we try to make kids self defence different...

Growing up is just as much about figuring out how to co-ordinate moving your arms and legs, as it is about learning the "3 R's"

Hapkido, for adults, can be especially taxing for the mind and body.

- Our first step is to cut the number of techniques required in half.

- Secondly we increase the amounts of drink breaks, and vary the activities frequently.

- Lastly, we don't treat them like kids in the Dojang.

Kids are just small Adults, and if you treat them as such they start to learn more about respect - be it self respect or respecting others.

Hapkido, and the way we teach small Adults, can help them learn how to behave, calm themselves, concentrate and overall develop physically & mentally.

Little Tigers (5yrs - 8yrs)

(See Timetable for Classes Times)

Little Tigers classes have been designed specifically for little people that aren't quite ready for full-only Hapkido Classes.

In these classes we focus on movement and fun, we focus on the core basic fundamentals of self-defence:

Stepping, Thinking & Kyup (Noise) - without really knowing it, the Little Tigers start to build parts of the Hapkido technique syllabus while having a laugh.

Little Tigers is offered all year round, with an extra Tuesday class being held during the school terms.
